Development Update and Next Steps
Hi folks, it’s been a while since I’ve posted an update and that’s because I’ve been working hard on Midnight of the Century.
I’m happy to say that layout is now done and the PDF is 99% there. I’m waiting on a final edit pass from my editor Karen and after I incorporate her edits, the PDF will be complete.
Here are the next steps once the PDF is finalised:
- Launch the complete PDF on Itch and DriveThruRPG. Make sure everyone who backed it on Itch gets a copy of the PDF.
- Cast a wide net for feedback: typos, errors, layout weirdness.
- Give it a few weeks and gather all of the feedback—fix what needs to be changed.
- Update the PDF with the fixes.
- Send the complete PDF to the printer and navigate their pre-press requirements to get everything ready.
- Send the books to print.
- As the hardcover is printing, continue work on the Midnight of the Century Casebook (final name still TBC), a collection of five new Investigations from fantastic guest writers Graeme Barber, Chris Bissette, DG Chapman, and Emma Lambert.
- Finish the Casebook and send those to print. Hopefully receive both the hardcover and Casebook around the same time.
- Collect backer info and shipping costs.
- Ship books out to backers!
I’ve had a lot of fun working on this but it’s taken a lot longer than I expected, so thanks for everyone’s patience and understanding!
I plan on doing more work on this website, so keep your eyes peeled!
